Big relief for EPF members: Check major updates on Aadhaar KYC, UAN activation, death claims

EPFO has eased the process of linking Aadhaar with the Universal Account Number (UAN). If the name, gender, and date of birth match exactly in both records, Aadhaar can be seeded with UAN directly through the employer portal without separate EPFO approval.

As per an EPFO circular on August 13, 2025, “In all cases where the name, gender and date of birth as available in the UAN matches exactly with those in Aadhaar, then the member can approach his/her Employer, who can seed Aadhaar with the UAN of the Member through KYC functionality available in the Employer Portal. No separate approval as such is required from EPFO.”
