To curb these issues, the DoT has now made it compulsory for all manufacturers and importers to ship every device meant for India with the Sanchar Saathi app pre-installed. The app must be visible on the screen when the phone is being set up for the first time, and companies cannot hide, disable, or limit any of its features. The idea is to ensure every user has quick access to security tools without needing to download anything separately.
