Bakrid bank holiday today: Are banks open or closed in your state on June 6, 2025 for Id-ul-Ad’ha 2025

Banks in one state will be closed on Friday, January 6, 2025, on account of Id-ul-Ad’ha (Bakrid), a significant Islamic festival celebrated by the Muslim community across India. As per the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) holiday calendar, banks in the state will remain closed for the entire day.

Bakrid- Eid al-Ad’ha

The festival, also known as Eid al-Adha or the Festival of Sacrifice. It is marked by prayers, feasts, and acts of charity. Since the date of Eid varies depending on the sighting of the moon, the holiday differs from state to state.

In which state are banks closed on June 6, 2025?

All public and private sector banks in Kerala, including branches of SBI, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, and others, will remain closed on January 6, 2025.Online banking services such as net banking, mobile banking, ATMs, and UPI will remain operational. This holiday is specific to Kerala and may not apply to other states, where Bakrid might be observed on different dates based on regional moon sightings.
