Can a person renounce their OCI card? Check process and what happens to minor or spouse OCI cards?

Minor children or spouses who are OCI cardholders by virtue of the applicant’s OCI status also need to renounce their OCI registration.

According to the High Commission of India, Singapore, “Where a person ceases to be an Overseas Citizen of India under subsection (1), every minor child/ children of that person registered as an Overseas Citizen of India, shall thereupon cease to be an Overseas Citizen of India. Similarly, a spouse sponsored for OCI by virtue of OCI of the applicant, also needs to renounce his/ her OCI registration.”
