Section 80C is one of the most widely used sections for tax deductions. It allows deductions for a variety of investments and expenses such as Employee Provident Fund (EPF), Public Provident Fund (PPF), National Savings Certificates (NSC), Equity Linked Savings Schemes (ELSS), life insurance premiums, tuition fees, and repayment of the principal amount on a home loan. The total deduction available under Section 80C is capped at ?1.5 lakh per financial year.
