The Maharashtra government has suspended 26.34 lakh beneficiaries from its flagship Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana following a verification exercise that revealed instances of people availing benefits despite being deemed ineligible, as per a statement issued by State Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkar.
In June 2024, the Maharashtra government approved the launch of the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin scheme, aimed at promoting the economic independence of women in the state.
