To get an OCI card, you need to fill out an online form, upload documents, and give biometric details. Then, you’ll go for an in-person check at the nearest Indian embassy or FRRO office.
* If you’re applying from outside India, the fee is US $275.
* If you’re applying from within India, it’s Rs.15,000.
Make sure your documents clearly show your Indian connection—especially if applying through family or marriage. NRIs do not have to pay any of this since they are Indian citizens, however, they are subject to Indian taxation rules.
