Saturday bank holiday: Are banks open or closed today on November 1, 2025?

Many bank customers are unsure whether November 1, 2025, is a working day or a bank holiday. The confusion arises because different states observe regional holidays on this date every year.

However, according to the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) official holiday calendar, banks are closed today only in two states and not across the country. For the rest of the states, banks will function as usual for both public and private sector customers.

Are banks open or closed today on November 1, 2025?

Banks are closed in Karnataka for Kannada Rajyotsava and in Uttarakhand for Igas-Bagwal festival. While banks in other states will work as usual.

Igas-Bagwal

Igas-Bagwal is a traditional folk celebration held in Uttarakhand, mainly in the Garhwal region, eleven days after Diwali. It’s also called “Budhi Diwali” or “Harbodhni Ekadashi” and celebrates the end of Lord Vishnu’s four-month vacation period.
Karnataka Rajyotsava also known as Karnataka State Day is a public holiday celebrated annually on November 1 in Karnataka.

Bank holidays in November 2025

Banks will be closed in November on various occasions such as Kannada Rajyothsava, Igas-Bagwal, Guru Nanak Jayanti, Kartika Purnima, Rahas Purnima, Nongkrem Dance, Wangala Festival, Kanakadasa Jayanthi depending on the state and region.
